Successful Removal of 20cm Fistulous Tract and Foreign Bodies: A Case of Long-Term Leg Infection

A 22-year-old male patient from Bihar presented with a 7-year history of recurrent pus discharge from his leg. The condition stemmed from an accidental injury sustained during a bomb blast, which led to multiple surgeries in Patna over the years but failed to resolve the issue.

Upon evaluation at our facility, we identified a 20cm long fistulous tract in the leg, containing multiple entrapped foreign bodies, including stone fragments. A meticulous surgical intervention was carried out to remove the fistulous tract and the foreign bodies.

The operation was a success, and the patient was discharged the very next day. He is expected to make a full recovery within a month, with no recurrence of the infection.
